Forward a browser-connected USB serial device to tools running on your Paseo host. The plugin exposes a temporary loopback TCP endpoint for raw serial bytes. It does not create an OS serial port or provide full USB/IP.
Open USB serial in the sidebar, choose a baud rate and select your device. Host tools connect to the displayed TCP endpoint. You can switch to an agent and return to manage the connection. Keep the browser tab open; reloading or closing it ends the session. Finish pending device commands, then close the host tool connection or choose Release host tool to let another agent use the same TCP endpoint. Only one tool can connect at a time. Release keeps the serial port open; it does not reset the device or separate delayed replies from earlier commands. Forcing release can truncate bytes still being sent to the departing tool. Disconnect ends forwarding, while Forget device removes browser permission when supported.
Requires Paseo 0.11.2 or later within the manifest's supported range, HTTPS or localhost, and a desktop browser with Web Serial support. Brave may require enabling Web Serial. Native mobile and Electron device access are unavailable. Serial uses 8 data bits, no parity, one stop bit and no hardware flow control. Opening a port can reset some boards. Remote baud, DTR/RTS control and automatic reconnect are unsupported.
Device bytes travel through the existing Paseo connection to the selected host. The plugin does not send prompts or tool results to agent providers; an agent tool consuming device output can include that output in its own provider requests. The TCP endpoint has no authentication and is accessible to local processes, including other OS users. Use a trusted host. Tools in containers must share the daemon's network namespace.
